소식통에 따르면 한 중동계 항공사가 임대하는 B787-9기종 네대에 대한 Sale and Lease Back 비딩을 진행하였는데, 진행 중간 결과를 보면 대당 약 $163.6mil에서 $168.2mil달러 수준으로 비딩 가격 제안이 들어왔다고 알려짐.

Middle East carrier Gulf Air has received one bid for the financing of four new Boeing 787-9 deliveries under a sale and leaseback transaction, according to a document.

Sanad Aero Solutions was the only bidder in the second round.

The Abu Dhabi-based company submitted bids for $672.76 million, or $168.2 million per aircraft under a first-option scenario. Under a second-option scenario, Sanad Aero Solutions bid for $654.33 million, or $163.6 million per aircraft.

The Bahraini national carrier approached the market in the summer with a request for proposals (RFP) covering the four aircraft.

Initially, leasing companies Sanad Aero Solutions Abu Dhabi, Novus Aviation Capital and International Airfinance Corporation submitted bids for the aircraft. SMBC Aviation Capital, Avolon Aerospace Leasing and GECAS are also in the running along with Chinese lessors CDB Aviation and Minsheng Commercial Aviation (Ireland).

One aircraft was delivered on 18 September. The new 787-9 will join the fleet by the end of October.

Airfinance Journal understands that the remaining three are set to join the fleet in 2020.

The Middle East carrier has placed an order for 10 aircraft of the type.

In November 2017 it mandated five 787-9s to Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE) under a sale and leaseback transaction.

The first unit was delivered in April 2018. DAE acquired a sixth aircraft in February this year.
Gulf Air was unavailable for comment.
